My husband Stanley.
We two were one. Now I’m half. The greatest
love I’ve known died June 1. When he put his
arms around me, I felt safe.
We had almost 50 years together. Stanley had
a big personality. His curiosity was endless. He
liked classical music, Count Basie, Chinese food,
baseball, crossword puzzles, talking to anyone–
and he liked me most of the time. I will love him
every minute of the rest of my life.
We will have a Memorial Party for Stanley sometime soon.
Please come and bring anybody.
Hoping to have Klezmer music and hear stories
from anybody about this gorgeous man.
Blog will be on hiatus until after summer.
Hope you come back.
Oh Gingy,
I’m sending you BIG Loving Hugs from me to you.
You 2 were one of the lucky ones that had a special friendship
That long….
❤️
Oh Ginny,
It’s never easy losing someone so special in your life. Stanley was special to have you in his life too. May your spirits meet again n they will someday.
Love & wrap around hugs
Arlyne
Oh, Gingy…
I cried when I read the news about your Stanley. I hope you are doing well and the memories that make you sob with sadness will soon bring some happy tears, too.
I can’t imagine all of the people who feel like they “know” you as I do, having played Gingy in “Love, Loss and What I Wore” in May. Just know that a Gingy in North Iowa is grieving for you…and wishing she could make you laugh and smile as your words and past life experiences have done for her.
Love,
Michelle Sprout Murray
Dear Gingy, I am so sorry to hear you lost your Stanley. My sincere condolences. May the memories of all your family members who have died bring you love and light, and strength. It’s a very sad day for you, and it’s your birthday. A big hug from me! Love, Barbara Slotnick Travins
Hi Gingy,
I am so sorry for your loss…Stanley was the love of your life. He will be in your thoughts forever and you will remember all the times you spent together which may help make it easier as time go bye.

Hi Again, Gingy,
I truly believe that the only thing worse than losing someone is never to have known that person at all. That thought has continued to help me when I’ve lost those that I loved.
XOXO
Linda
Lots of love to you, Ilene!
XOXO

I lost my better half on March 3rd, so I do know how you feel. We were together 59 years, and I will miss everything about him (even our arguments) for the rest of my life. We had a memorial and reception on March 31, and many of his friends came. I kept saying it was just the kind of party he would have loved, and it was too bad he wasn’t there for it. But you know what? I bet your guy will be there too. God Bless.
Gingy,
I’ll forever and ever think of Stanley when eating Ben & Jerry’s “Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz” ice cream I ate with you guys at your house♥️ I am thinking of you and the girls all the time.
Love you all very much ♥️
Chloe (Olivia’s friend)
Gingy-
Sending you the biggest hugs. xxoo Yummy
Hi Ilene:
So very sorry to hear of your tremedous loss. I’m thinking of you. Hugs.
Ilene, I am so saddened to hear that Stanley has left us. He was an amazing guy, so knowledgeable and entertaining, with a bright, open smile and a mischievous chuckle. I always enjoyed talking with him, and seeing his pride in your accomplishments. You have my deep sympathy. ~Terry
Ilene,
We’re so sorry to read about the loss of Stanley. Leo and I met you both while waiting for the bus to New York from Clinton a few years ago. And I talked with him sometimes at the gym in Clinton. It was great listening to his stories. You’re in our thoughts.
Dearest Gingi, I am so sorry you lost Stanley, the love of your life. I will not say what people said to me when my beloved husband died: At least you had him for … so many years.Yes. I did have him for so many years and they were great years. That’s true but it was not enough. And I’m sure you feel this way about Stanley. It would never have been enough. I am sending warm thoughts your way. Sally
Dearest Gingi, I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest condolences and the acknowledgment of your Love, which will live forever. Sally

Ilene,
You and Stanley: a beautiful, wonderful couple. Jonathan and I were so blessed to know him and have such fun with the two of you. You are in my heart and thoughts, dear friend. Love, Nancy
I met Stanley several times at Maggie and Ed’s. He was handsome, witty and
charming. That young girl you so often describe found a Prince. Well done.
I am so sorry that he is gone. You’re in my thoughts.
A tribute to a beautiful relaltionship.
Ilene, I’m so terribly sorry for your loss. Sending you prayers and hugs for comfort. ❤️
My heart ❤️ breaks for you. With love and condolences, Phyllis
Hi Gingy, I did get to know Stanley a bit across all those difficult years.
He loved you and the girls. He made sacrifices for them that they are grateful for. He loved them as his own.
We hope his memory will be a blessing for you and the fine women he helped raise.
Michael & Gail
Ilene please accept my deepest sympathy. I never had the pleasure of meeting Stanley but just hearing you speak of him I could sense the love you 2 shared.
