You’re just a button click away and I’d love
to hear from you.
About your world, your family, your joys and frustrations, growing up, growing older, even recipes– even though I stopped cooking–by request–years ago.
Goodbye until next time…
Hope your day turns outas well as I hope
(but doubt) mine will,
Gingy (Ilene)
Grandma Ettie was very wise. My Grandma Jean used to say “Turn the other cheek.” That advice is good for keeping friends and marriages. Miss America with hemorrhoids…quite a picture…I’ll have to remember that one.
I love your blog. 🙂 And with Grandma Ettie’s wisdom I will now am going to go buy some witch hazel and rest easy knowing that Ms. America might have hemroids.
You are amazing.
Xo,
Naomi
My grandmother would say ‘–“and be patient, all things will pass”
Every problem is a challenge. Thanksgiving is coming- have a happy one,
DON’T TALK MORE THAN YOU LISTEN..
Having know Ettie during my growing u years it seems that I did not listen.
I am only just now at almost 85 trying to learn to listen..
My father told me as a girl to keep up my end of the conversation
and he told Gingy to speak up. from the from of the mouth.
I listened to his advice to me and also his advise to Gingy
I LOVE YOU BLOGS

.
Wouldn’t Ettie love that her wisdom has been passed down to all of us from you.
And somehow I think that those of us who have grandchildren can dream that, some day, they’ll be passing along some wise bits they got from us. (Even if they don’t seem to be listening, I’d like to think something is getting through.)
You brought Ettie back to life in your book, The Smartest Woman I Know.
Thanks for that. xxx
All delightfully wise words! Many thanks, as always, dear Gingy!
Love
Terry
You’re fresh air and, boy, do we need fresh air!!
You continue to bring laughs to my day and Live to my lifer. Thank you.
This post is so hysterical and yet, so realistic. Grandma Ettie sure knows best. Those statements are ones that everyone should hear… especially the witch hazel one LOL. I love how relatable this post is, as many of yours are. The line about the golden rule really resonates with me. I also admire and very much appreciate your drawings that go along with the literature. Well done- as always! I cannot wait for your next post. You are a true inspiration with such a beautiful and unique craft!!
This post is hysterical and so realistic. Grandma Ettie speaks the truth and I love it. I really admire the part about following the gold vs. following the golden rule. Very well done!! I will say it and continue to say it, your posts are so original, so natural, and so enjoyable in all ways. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and of course, I cannot wait for next post!
I love being able to wallow in Grandma Ettie’s philosphy in your book THE SMARTEST WOMAN I KNOW. Thanks for the above tidbits, Gingy!
You are so funny! Love this, and every blog you write!
You did it again! Great blog. The make up piece also applies to clothes – I love clothes on thin women. I am not. Drops cloths only, please! I thought of your book/play as I read the news where what people wear and where you can purchase it is more important than what they did. Do we all want to be someone else?
Be well and be safe,
Cindy
I am not a robot but I have two robotic hips!
“love doesnt last but either does sadness.
Grandma Ettie and you are right on. Love what she knows and what you know. All true. All shall guide me.
Love, Nancy
