DON’T
BE
SILENT

Sexual Harassment—in Hollywood, in the media, in Wall Street, in politics —everywhere it seems.

Who do these creeps think they are?

Where did they get the messages that they can do whatever they want to women, whenever they want?

Look at them. They’d never be mistaken for Cary Grant or George Clooney, as if it mattered.

So who are they?

They’re husbands, brothers, sons, fathers, bosses, big shots.

And who do they think we are?

Objects for their use?

No way.

We’re wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, co-workers, friends.

So let’s send them a new message.

You can’t treat women as objects.

You can’t dominate us.

You can’t threaten us.

You can’t hide.

Let’s stop feeling it’s our fault.

Let’s not let them damage us.

Let’s not let them hurt us.

Let’s not be silent.

You’re just a button click away– and I’d love to hear from you.

About your world, your family, your joys and frustrations, growing up, growing older, even recipes–even though I stopped cooking–by request–years ago.

Goodbye until next time…

Hope your day turns out as well as I hope
(but doubt) mine will,

Gingy (Ilene)
